Florida Christian Writers Conference

There's only six more days until I leave for the Florida Christian Writers Conference and I'm going in circles. (See Dumbo picture.) I finished my "homework" for the mentoring class I'm taking, but I still have to rewrite, work on book proposals and one sheets.

But the important work is almost finished. The chocolates are bought, picked out which tote bag will look best to bring my manuscripts with my pens and stuff, gathered my family pictures to show off while there and have the special pins with our group name wrapped, and let's see what else.....

Seriously, I can't wait to see my friends, we live all over the country. What a priviledge to have a conference so close to me-near Orlando. So, next week will be an off week on my blog, but I should have plenty to post when I return.

Back on the Dumbo ride,

Caring Katriel

Hey, Ya'll,

Here's Katriel, my granddaughter. She is the most loving girl and cares for everyone. She always has something in her hands, from live critters to a bat and ball or Wii or books or crafts. Katriel loves team sports, and is good too. I'm serious, she's great!

Oh, the dog is her aunt's, not mine. Mine is about 65 pounds heavier.

She lives in Virginia, and I miss her.

Okay, here's the problem, I can't figure out how to get this writing to go all the way to the top of the page. So just pretend it's in the right place.
Thanks for using your imagination,
God is good.

Caden's First Cereal

See, I told you I would try not to bore you. This is the youngest of my grandchildren. You're getting an up close and personal look at his first cereal feeding or spoon eating of any kind. He just turned four months.

Soon I'll get pictures of my granddaughter too. But she already knows how to eat. She's eight.

Blessings,

karen

God's Provision

Welcome to my wacky, and maybe weird blog. I will try not to put you to sleep. I hope you will enjoy. I have no idea what will be written on this site, but it is here for the Lord's glory.

The Florida Christian Writers Conference is Feb. 26-Mar. 1. They offer a special mentoring track this year for fiction and non-fiction writers. It does cost extra but I am really interested to learn more about fiction.

I only wrote non-fiction, that is until my Kindred Heart Writer friends talked me into the National Novel Write Month (nanowrimo, for short.) For this contest you have a month to write about anything, but the word count must total or exceed 50,000. Yes, I said 50,000! --and they count the words. I tried my hand, or fingers at fiction, just letting my mind wander at will and it came up with a story. Writing without constraints was fun.

A dear friend who signed up early for the special mentoring track, encouraged me to try. Ah, but you see, finances. My husband and I thought I should first see if spots were still available. There were two. I took a deep breath and signed up.

The next week my boss, where I work part time, asked if I could work all day for a couple of days this month. Hey, there's the money for the class. The wisdom of men. Ha! The power of God.

Real life better than fiction,

Karen
